The latest county data shows some of the fastest pacing in northern Indiana. In Fort Wayne, Allen County is averaging 12 days from list to pending. In South Bend, St. Joseph County is at 8 days. In Lafayette, Tippecanoe County is also at 8 days. Lake County, in northwest Indiana, is at 18 days.
In the Indianapolis metro, the market is moving fastest on the north side. Hamilton County is at 15 days, while Boone County is at 20 days. Marion County is at 21 days, and Johnson County is at 24 days. Further out, homes are taking longer to go pending in some counties. Hancock County is at 40 days, and Morgan County is at 48 days.
Further south, Evansville is moving more quickly than some of the slower outer Indianapolis counties. Vanderburgh County is averaging 17 days, which puts it much closer to Lake County and the faster major markets than to the slowest parts of the Indy metro.
Among these major markets, the range runs from 8 days in South Bend and Lafayette to 48 days in Morgan County. That is the difference between a market where buyers need to move quickly and one where listings can sit for several weeks longer.
