In February, sales dipped 1% year-over-year, but the story is different for Indiana's most affordable counties. Counties with a median sale price under lower than the state median ($260,000) experience 1% sales growth. Counties with higher prices than the state median saw sales contract by 4%.
Marion County, the largest county with a sale price below the state average, had stable sales, growing by less than one percent. Sales in Lake County improved by just under 2% year-over-year. Vanderburgh County led the growth trend among large, affordable counties, with year-over-year sales growth of 29% in February.
The largest county with average or above-average prices is Hamilton County, where sales fell 4% year-over-year. Some counties bucked this trend, however—Tippecanoe, Hancock, and Porter counties all had more than 10% year-over-year sales growth.
