Geography notes: Urban core counties are located in a multi-county MSA with at least 250,000 residents and contain the principal city of that MSA. An exception was made for Lake County. While Chicago is the principal city of this MSA, Lake County represents an urban area of significant importance in Indiana. Urban Core Counties includes Allen County, Lake County, Marion County, Vanderburgh County.
